Description Elevate™ QuickPrime Plus

Elevate™ QuickPrime Plus is designed for cleaning and priming Elevate EPDM membranes and substrates prior to the application of QuickSeam™ products, self-adhesive membranes (SA), Pourable Sealer, and/or Lap Sealant. The primer activates the membrane surface, which is essential for ensuring seam quality and a reliable bond. QuickPrime Plus should be applied using the QuickScrubber™ tool.

Application

QuickPrime Plus can be used in the following Elevate systems: RubberGard™ EPDM, RubberCover™ EPDM, GeoGard™ EPDM, PondGard™ EPDM, GeoSmart™ EPDM, RubberGutter™ EPDM, and Giscolene™ EPDM.

Surface Preparation

Surfaces to receive QuickPrime Plus must be clean, smooth, dry, and free of sharp edges, loose materials, oil, grease, and other contaminants. Preliminary cleaning with Splice Wash or Cleaner C-20 may be necessary. The EPDM membrane surface should be cleaned with a brush or clean rag. Before use, stir the primer thoroughly until uniform, with no sediment at the bottom or marbling effect. If the primer has been stored for a prolonged period below 15°C, bring it to room temperature before application.

Application Method

Apply QuickPrime Plus to the EPDM surface using the QuickScrubber tool with long back-and-forth strokes and moderate to firm pressure along the treated area until the surface turns dark gray, with no streaks or puddles. Allow the primer to dry completely (typically under 10 minutes) before applying QuickSeam products. For detailed instructions, refer to Elevate’s technical guidelines.

Coverage Rates

Approximate coverage rates when using 3.78 L (1 gallon) of primer with the QuickScrubber tool:

• General application: 18 to 23 m² (one side application)

• Standard seam with 76 mm (3") Splice Tape: 60 linear meters – 2 sides

• QuickSeam SA Flashing: 35 linear meters – 1 side

• QuickSeam FormFlash 152 mm (6"): 90 linear meters – 1 side

• QuickSeam FormFlash 229 mm (9"): 60 linear meters – 1 side

• QuickSeam FormFlash 305 mm (12"): 45 linear meters – 1 side

• QuickSeam Batten Cover Strip: 90 linear meters – 1 side

Storage

Store in original closed canisters at moderate temperatures (15°C - 25°C) in a dry, well-ventilated area. Keep away from heat, sparks, and open flames. Protect from direct sunlight. If necessary, use insulated packaging to maintain moderate temperatures during transport to the site and before use. This ensures proper viscosity, efficiency, and primer performance.

Shelf Life

When stored under the above conditions, shelf life is 12 months. Check the production date on each canister. Shelf life may be shortened by exposure to higher temperatures. Shelf life information is a recommendation and depends on storage conditions and product handling. Once opened, use within 48 hours.

Disposal

Ensure the canister is empty before disposal. Do not pour primer into the sewer system. Dispose of contents and/or container in accordance with national regulations.

Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS). Flammable. Keep away from fire, open flames, and other ignition sources during storage and use. Do not smoke during use. For professional use only. Use only in well-ventilated areas. Keep the canister closed when not in use. Avoid prolonged inhalation of vapors and contact with skin and eyes. Do not contaminate with foreign materials. Keep out of reach of children. Do not dilute.
