From Two-Wheel Tractors to Specialized Tractors
Officine Meccaniche Ferrari S.p.A. in Luzzara (Reggio Emilia) was established in the context of post-war reconstruction in Italy and is closely linked with the development and mechanization of agriculture in the 1950s.
After an initial phase focused on designing molds for irrigation pipes, FERRARI presented its first agricultural machine, the MC 57 two-wheel tractor, at the Verona fair in 1957. It was an immediate success, and with various updates, it was produced until 1965, when FERRARI released its first articulated tractor, the MT 65.
By those years, FERRARI already had a high technological content. The product range expanded in the 1970s with the production of the first brushcutters, conveyors, and agricultural machines for transporting food products over rough terrain.
In 1988, FERRARI joined the BCS Group — a leading multinational company in mechanization. BCS Group designs and manufactures high-quality agricultural machinery, mowers, and generators. The company has three production plants in Italy (Abbiategrasso, Luzzara, and Cusago), all ISO 9001 certified, as well as offices and distributors on every continent.
SPECIALIZED COMPACT TRACTORS
Ferrari produces high-performance, extremely reliable, and highly maneuverable specialized compact tractors. The combination of a short wheelbase and low center of gravity with powerful engines and innovative design makes Ferrari tractors indispensable for working in narrow rows or dense vegetation. They are ideal for vineyards, orchards, and greenhouse farms where space is limited and productivity is crucial.
POWERFUL ENGINES
Kohler Tier 4 Final engines are equipped with a Common Rail system, providing precise fuel injection control, more efficient combustion, and reduced fuel consumption. With electronic control via the dashboard, engine speed can be easily set, saved, and restored. This is especially convenient after turning at the end of a row — returning to the exact working speed is possible with the push of a button.
MANEUVERABILITY AND FLEXIBILITY
Ferrari tractor models are available in several versions, allowing choice depending on maneuverability needs. RS versions have hydrostatic front-wheel steering. AR versions feature a central hinge with hydrostatic control at the tractor articulation. DS (DUALSTEER®) versions achieve the smallest turning radius thanks to a dual hydrostatic steering system acting on both the front wheels and the central hinge.
OPERATOR POSITION
In just a few seconds, the operator's position can be rotated 180°. The seat, steering wheel, dashboard, and pedals rotate easily, providing the operator with unlimited visibility of the working equipment. There is no need to strain the neck by looking over the shoulder. Not available in SDT versions.
TECHNOLOGICAL CABINS
For maximum operator comfort, low-profile and tapered cabins are available. Certain models offer pressurized AIRTECH Comfort cabins with air conditioning, heating, internal lighting, additional outlets, and other options. All cabins are mounted on shock absorbers to reduce vibration and noise, have large glass windows and doors for unobstructed visibility, and feature an aerodynamic design to prevent damage from plant branches.
